Year 6 Camp Day 2

After a rather wet and stormy night , we awoke to glorious sunshine! We were up and ready for our breakfast by 7 and once we had gobbled down our food and taken our turn in clearing the dining hall we met the instructors in the barn ready for a morning of climbing and archery. We split into boys and girls to complete these activities and had a brilliant morning of tacking the huge and rather challenging outdoor climbing wall and testing our archery skills.

Following lunch (and a quick cricket game) we then had an afternoon of problem solving and cycling. The cycling was made slightly muddier by a brief but rather heavy shower mid way though but this just added to the fun. We all had a go at tackling the incredibly challenging ‘Beast’ wall. The wall requires physical and mental strength as a plank at a time is added to the height. Amazingly 3 children succeeded in climbing over the wall unaided - an absolutely incredible achievement.

Sadly, as with yesterday the rain moved in in the evening and after dinner we found we were unable to head to the beach as planned so we returned to our tents to prepare for ‘The Tent Talent Contest part 2’. We had a fantastic evening full of laughter. The winning tent chose tonight film - Monsters University and having enjoyed hot chocolate and delicious cake we gathered our bedding and settled down. We’re really looking forward to our day at the beach tomorrow - although rain is forecast it wont stop us once we’ve got our wet-suits on!
