E-Safety

At Perran-ar-Worthal School, the children go online on a regular basis as part of their learning.
In school we have a filtering system that is monitored closely and adjusted to address any changes to programmes that we feel may affect the safety of our pupils.
As part of our regular e-safety lessons, our pupils are made aware of acceptable use of the interenet as well as what to do if something does go wrong. Pupils are encouraged to apply this learning whenever they are on-line; in school or at home.
When at home, children may at times, have unsupervised access to the internet and social media games if they have, for example, a games console in their room. We urge parents to ensure that they check if the games their children have access to are age appropriate. The content of many of these games can often be checked on the information provided on the packaging or through research on the Internet. The Common Sense Media link below is a site that parents can use to find out more about the content of games and apps and its suitability for a particular age group.
We very much value your support with reinforcing Internet safety at home as well as in school.
Below are copies of the monthly 'Online Safety Newsletter' which contains links to sites and articles that you might find useful. If you would like to subscribe to the newsletter, please email the office and they will ensure you are added to the list.
