YEAR 6 CAMP 2016 - Tuesday, DAY 2

Tuesday, 12th July
It's day 2 of Year 6 camp and the children have had a day of problems to solve. Team work has been the focus where the Swifts have had to work together to solve problems for the benefit of their entire group. This has involved several activities where they have needed to get their entire team from A to B using only the tools and equipment provided. One of these activities included getting team mates over a very high wall, affectionately known as 'THE BEAST'. A morning of thinking after a night of little sleep....not ideal, but the Swifts still did themselves proud and rose to the challenge. After lunch the Swifts demonstrated their climbing prowess on the indoor wall and also had the chance to take part in an archery competition or two! A rather competitive end to the day where all where wanting that bull's eye!
After tea the children walked down to the beach for some down time amongst the rock pools and sand - stone skimming and marble run competitions seemed to be the highlight of the evening instigated by Mr Collett. Hot chocolate and plenty of cake went down well and provided the sugar input needed for the steep walk back to camp. The fresh air and exercise certainly worked a treat with all Swifts asleep by 10.30pm. All had to be woken up for the staff in the morning!
